ASweddingAlex and Suzanne were married on May 30, 2015 at St. Mary Church in Greenwich, CT, a year after attending the Legionaries of Christ Three to Get Married (3TGM) pre-cana program. They were introduced to the Legion and Regnum Christi a few years ago at annual missions in their parish and Ignatian retreats. Today, they reflect on the 3TGM program with gratitude in their hearts to the Legionaries and Regnum Christi.

In their words, they received the most exquisite engagement gift from their best friends. Their friends, who are a married couple, highly recommended the Legionaries’ 3TGM program after having completed it several years ago. They spoke of how enlightening the weekend was, how much their relationship with God and one another evolved, and how instrumental it was in preparing for their wedding day and thereafter. They have the type of marriage which others aspire to, which is why Alex and Suzanne were so drawn to the program.

SAfredwardBoth Alex and Suzanne didn’t know what to expect that weekend, however said it far exceeded any of their expectations. They were attracted to the design of the program, which worked to instruct, promote, and inspire the beauty and truth of God’s plan. They met Father Edward Hopkins LC, who facilitated the program and helped them prepare for one of the most important days of their life. The couple was very honored to have Father Edward celebrate their Nuptial Mass one year later.

“We owe Father Edward, the Legionaries of Christ, and Regnum Christ volunteers so much for laying a beautiful foundation to our marriage” the couple commented. The Legionaries and Regnum Christi prepared a serene weekend of prayer, presentations, couple sharing, and Holy Mass. The couple was enlightened on topics of family of origins, relationships and communication, family planning, financial planning, and Catholic theology, essentially preparing them for married life. The Legionaries offered them invaluable insights into their relationship with God and one another. They were also inspired by the way Regnum Christi volunteers, who were married couples, interacted with one another and spoke of marriage. They said no words can express the countless blessings which came from that weekend and only hope to share those blessings with others.

SAmaryAlex and Suzanne live in Stamford, CT. They have volunteered over the years with the Junior Board of Catholic Charities, Missionaries of Charity, Xavier Missions, NY Cares, and various clinics. In the past year, both attended a few Regnum Christi events, which were very enriching, and they look forward to being a part of many more.
